We Believe In Catholic Schools
The Mission of the Office of the Superintendent of Schools, guided by the Holy Spirit, is to care for the education and faith formation of our Catholic School Communities through leadership and service while advancing sustainable, thriving school models centered in the Excellence of Christ.
Providing your children with a Catholic School education will not only help them achieve all their milestones as far as cognitive learning goes, but their faith will be strengthened throughout each year they join us. We make sure to highlight all the academic learning points required by the state, while also providing classes and sessions revolving around teaching our students about the Catholic religion and the dedication to their faith that they will build upon each year.
Please take some time to visit the websites of our schools and read about their accomplishments, unique curriculum, service projects, and technology, arts, and sports programs. Each of our schools is a unique faith community and we currently have students enrolled from Bridgeport, Stamford, Norwalk, Danbury, Stratford, Newtown, Trumbull, Fairfield, and Shelton, CT. Be sure to visit and set time for a personal tour. I am certain you will find more than a school, you will find a family.

Mrs. Stacie Stueber, Interim Superintendent of Schools
Welcome to the Diocese of Bridgeport Catholic Schools website. Our schools are committed to providing our students with the best possible educational experience where they will flourish due to an enriching academic program that is infused with Catholic values and prepares them to become the responsible, thoughtful, and productive Catholic citizens that God intends.
It is our belief that we best set children up for future success as we enrich the intellectual, social, physical, psychological AND spiritual capacities of each child within our 20 elementary schools, 4 high schools and 1 school for special needs. Students are encouraged to explore their academic potentials while grounding their learning in values that promote compassion, justice, and service to others.
We are blessed to have teachers and administrators who are committed to offering a rigorous, holistic, and personalized education to the children entrusted to their care. These men and women are devoted to taking the gifts that each child has been blessed with and guiding each to grow in knowledge and wisdom while providing a safe and nurturing environment.
We pride ourselves in working in partnership with the parents of our students. We understand that they are the first teachers of their children and together we create a community that supports each other in the mission of preparing our young people for lives of purpose. This relationship fosters a sense of belonging and collective responsibility for the educational journey of each student, reinforcing the partnership between home, school, and Church that is central to the Catholic educational experience.
The Catholic schools within the Diocese of Bridgeport stand as a testament to the enduring commitment to provide a transformative educational experience. Through the integration of faith into learning, it enriches the lives of students and strengthens the fabric of the communities we serve. Our young people grow to not only be products of the stellar Catholic educational tradition, but pillars of it.
Accreditation
All schools in the Diocese of Bridgeport are fully accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. In order to become accredited, each school engages in a thorough and rigorous self-examination lasting 12-18 months. In the self-study, the school measures and verifies its achievements and identifies ways in which the institutional objectives can be perfected using the Standards for Accreditation as a guide.
After the self-study, a team of peer evaluators, who are faculty and administrators from other accredited institutions, conduct an on-site evaluation. This on-site evaluation lasts three days. The on-site evaluation assesses the institution taking into account the self-study. The team summarizes its findings in a written report which addresses the institution’s successes and suggests ways for improvement.
Emphasis on Faith and Values
Parents are the primary educators of their children. Our Catholic schools partner with parents to educate each child. Parents are encouraged to become involved in their child’s school and learning community. If you wish to continue the discussion revolving around the Catholic religion at home, we are more than happy to provide you with the lessons and learning material we use within our Catholic School education and classes, that way you can build upon what we teach in the classroom in your home environment. The Home & School Association (HSA) for each school provides opportunities for parents to volunteer and contribute to their child’s school. Parents help faculty and staff advance the mission and excellence of a Catholic School education.
Beyond the obvious advantages of a Catholic school education, such as the integration of moral and ethical teachings alongside traditional academics, there are many others that might not immediately occur to everyone, particularly those who do not have experience with being part of a Catholic school community. One such example is the emphasis placed on social justice and community service. Our curriculum stresses the importance of giving back and encourages students to take a hands-on approach and become actively involved in volunteer opportunities within their local community. We are extremely proud to think about the impact our students have throughout Bridgeport, Danbury, Fairfield, Newtown, Norwalk, Shelton, Stamford, Stratford, Trumbull, and the surrounding CT area. Together we can make a real difference in the world, and understanding this is key component of our Catholic school education. Civil engagement helps to foster empathy, responsibility, and a global perspective. It is a great way to forge lifelong friendships and establish useful connections as well.
