• Being able to share stories of the faith (including inspirational Biblical passages) and have meaningful discussions based on them.

• Watch major league baseball games, collect political memorabilia and watch classical movies

Favorite Thing About Being A Catholic School Teacher
My favorite thing about being a Catholic school teacher is the opportunity to teach my students more about the faith, specifically the rosary! I am so excited to teach my class how to pray the rosary and pray it as a group once a week.

In my free time I like to read, paint, draw, cook, and take my dog for hikes.

I love being able to not only help children develop their intellectual and cognitive abilities, but also teach them to love and respect others, and help them be their best selves at all times.

I love travelling, reading and spending time with my own family.

Ms. Foertsch has experience in the field of education from tutoring in Siena’s Writing Center for three years and from interning with both a special education teacher and a school psychologist. She has also volunteered at St. Francis of Assisi in Weston as an assistant second-grade religious education teacher, and at St. Greg’s as a classroom assistant in the Pre-K 4s. She is currently working at St. Greg’s as an assistant first-grade teacher

I have worked at Our Lady of Fatima for nineteen years and I would never teach anywhere else. I enjoy watching my students grow and mature; and I have been privileged to celebrate their high school and college successes.

Reading is my favorite hobby and this summer I enjoyed a new genre of historical novels. I am also passionate about interior design and my present project is my daughter’s new apartment.

My favorite part about being a Catholic School teacher is being welcomed into a small family-oriented community. Everyone (staff, students, parents and community members) knows each other and helps out when and where ever needed. I enjoy providing the opportunity to educate each student not only academically and socially, but also morally and spiritually as they grow in their faith.

I enjoy watching and rooting for my favorite sports teams. (baseball-Yankees and football-Giants)Going to the beach, hiking, and spending time outdoors with friends and family.

My favorite thing about being a Catholic school teacher is being able to cater to the needs of the whole child. Socially, emotionally, spiritually and academically. I also love the diversity, and being able to understand and acknowledge students’ cultural identities.
